Photographic Poeticisms

False

I woke to see the light
Dawn
No!
False dawn
That point
Where sun
Throws shaft into the heavens
Illuminates
Briefly
Then settles
Back to rest
As though
The celestial alarm rings
And the arm of dawn
Shakes off the covers
Long enough
To slam snooze
Then turn
To sleep
Snatching
A last brief
Dream
A stolen moment
As do we all
Knowing
That the day will come soon enough
Knowing
That this respite
Is nothing
Not truthfully an extension of the night
Simply a stolen moment
Not true rest

False

A blip
