The case of the missing tingsha
I made many photos today and could have made many more if I had the ability to be in several places at once.
There was a die-in to protest the Kavanaugh nomination. The vigil for Patrick Kimmons continues. And the Buddhist Peace Fellowship did a two-and-a-half-hour public meditation in solidarity with a march by the Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice. There is so much wrong in the USA that we are befuddled about what to respond to, how to respond, and how to prioritize our furies.
Sue and I attended the last one mentioned, which involved moving bells, bowls, ground covers, cushions, banners, flyers, and tarps from one location to another, and another. In all the moving and shifting, Sue lost track of a Tibetan tingsha that has a beautiful tone. During a break in the proceedings, she whispered to me, "Have you seen that tingsha anywhere? I can't find it." It was hanging around her neck, just as it is in this photo. We are not sure we are changing the world, but we do have some good laughs at ourselves.
