Ignored

Angie went from 0-100 in seconds this morning. First on the phone to our local NHS offices in Ottobeuren to get some advice regarding her father. They aren't in anyway responsible for his matters but here in "rural" areas, you are more likely to get help than in the large city "call-centre" operations.

Fortified with the helpful advice, she then phoned the hospital and demanded an appointment with the senior doctor for intensive care. AND she got one for early afternoon.

So off she set and met her sister Sigi and half-brother Peter who wanted to attend. And she laid into the two doctors even though it turned out they were now no longer responsible for Sepp having just "passed" him on to the biggest medical boss, the hospital Director. She was, of course, polite and in fact they had a good meeting and understood the concerns and had nothing against Sepp being moved to a "more competent" hospital, which was what Angie had got advice on. After this meeting, they then had another one with the Big Boss who after a few minutes of arrogant, "God-in-White" defensive lecturing, did come down off his cloud and gave a very detailed and understandable report.

At the end of all this and although still serious doubts, they decided to leave Sepp where he is for now.

They then spent the afternoon with Sepp and joined by Sigi's two sons. A big family action largely led by the two lads, giving Sepp a shave to reduce his normal beard to something that wouldn't irritate him quite so much. And by all accounts, it turned into a bit of a "party" with Sepp joining in and seemingly really doing well.

Luna and I looked after the animals doing a couple of walks around the village. As we drove out for the morning walk, I saw the parish's tractor parked alongside the silage bins that constantly annoy me for the amount of plastic rubbish they spread all over the countryside each time we have a storm. Just a few days earlier I had posted a public rant on Facebook and hoped perhaps something was being done.

But as we discovered on the evening walk, the council has declared a small area in the village to be a 30km/h (18mph) zone. It's purely resident without any through traffic so was a bit surprised. I think five signs must have been erected of which two are for farm tracks that are not used by cars and are only accessible from the zone, don't lead anywhere apart from fields and can't be accessed from anywhere else.

Well, it certainly doesn't worry me as I doubt I ever drive faster on the two streets as it's simply not sensible. Hopefully, there hadn't been some incident to cause this. There are some other roads in and around the village that could probably use the protection more.

Nice to have Angie home in a good mood, even if it was very late. She is mentally and physically exhausted and will take the day off tomorrow from the 200km round trip, knowing others in the family will be there and that Sepp is in good form.
