Just a perfect day

Another fabulous start to the day, with light mist rising from the water under a clear sky. No wind, unlike yesterday's strong breeze so the day just became hotter and hotter, making the locks hard work.

Saw lots of kingfishers today.

We are parked between a lock and a tunnel tonight. Tomorrow we pass through the tunnel. This is something that we have been eagerly anticipating having read about the installation here. The tunnel is closed by water curtains that are operated by the automatic lock device. Once inside there is a moving light show. Camera poised...
However, when we took Nell for a walk this afternoon, the route took us through the tunnel. No water curtains and a very sad and sickly light show... Maybe they lost a bid for ongoing maintenance funding. Sad.

I fell over on our walk and banged my bad knee again. This is likely to have a knock on effect on my crewing capabilities. The Captain is considering turning about. I feel very bad. On the other hand, my camera survived the fall so that is something to be cheerful about.
