A trip down memory lane. A quick visit to the old Odeon cinema, now known as the Storyhouse in Chester. Bought some cinema tickets for Saturday. Recommend visiting to anyone. The main cinema has been converted to a public space containing a bar/cafe area, lots of seats, lots of books and lots of quirky furnishings. The big screen has been knocked through while much of the art deco features remain, like the octagonal clock shown in the extra. I even spotted the seating area here I saw Rocky 4 for the first time: incredible experience, just like a real boxing match. It was so packed I remember the guy on the tannoy telling all of us to shift along the seats towards the walls to allow more people to sit. There was shouting, cheering, stamping on the ground, popcorn chucked in the air and quite a lot of smoking too. The shouting mainly consisted of "ROCKY, ROCKY, ROCKY!" and some brave souls chanting "GORBI, GORBI, GORBI!" Priceless.
I don't think cinemas will ever be the same again.
