Berberis!!!

Once upon a time we had a berberis hedge, and in its heyday sometimes it looked quite like this (without the yellow variety).
 
1.   It did get a bit out of control and:
 
2.   I’d rather trim a pyracantha any day, in fact I still do, so:
 
3.   We now have a fence!!!
 
 
This one I have admired in the autumn for the past fifteen years, but I don’t envy the owner with his (or her) cloths full of the hundreds tiny points you get when hedge trimming - AND it needs trimming at least two or three times a year!!!
