Passions

A long and excellent day.  The local Alpine Garden Society group has been organising a day conference - today was the day.  My role was mostly to book speakers and nurserymen to attend and negotiate the choice of lectures.  Happy to report that everything went very well including the choices I was responsible for.  Two very different speakers.  David Rankin, retired Prof from Edinburgh, expert on his chosen subjects of Primula and Meconopsis, informative and entertaining in equal measure.  The second speaker, a young Romanian, Razvan Chisu, now living and working in the UK brought the title of the conference - A Passion for Plants -  to life with his first lecture :-)   Much laughter as he struck a chord with many of the audience.  The biggest laugh came with the slide shown as an extra pic which followed a story of a holiday visiting specialist nurseries :-)    He later shared his knowledge of Transylvanian Alpines and Castles.   Good company, great talks, excellent food and I came home with some nice plants having confirmed my status as a plantaholic by spending all my cash!

An hour at home and I was off out with Jamie to an orchestral concert, Greig and Sibelius, Jamie's violin teacher being the orchestra leader.  A great night out.
