Unusual cross seen in Honiley Churchyard

This cross marks one of the graves in Honiley Churchyard. The church is dedicated to St John the Baptist and it was built in 1723 as the estate church for nearby Honiley House.

There are rumours that the original design was drawn by Sir Christopher Wren (of St Paul's Cathedral fame) who lived nearby at the time. To see photos of the church and a close up view of the cross click here.
