Made from sweets

Today I was helping out at Jelly Tots and The was a display of necklaces made from sweets. The lady who makes them came along later and we were chatting to her.

The garland of wrapped sweets ( called lolly lei in New Zealand ) are a modern take on traditional Pacific Island flower necklace. .
They are used I greeting and saying goodbye, to honour and bestow specialness, and in recognition of achievement.
