Dawn

We had an early start today, and the dawn sky was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad that the camera-phone captured the colours quite faithfully.

Of course, the old adage of "red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning" proved to be absolutely true. The day got worse and worse, with high winds and heavy rains, not just here but all over the country.

And in other news - it was the first practice of our volunteer Christmas Choir last night. Very funny indeed, because most of us joined in just to sing the carols lustily, but we're lucky enough to have the services of a highly professional choir master who has other ideas, and wants us all to sing the parts and twiddly bits. We had a go, but most of us don't read music, so he's in for an uphill struggle to teach us the parts in only 2 practice sessions before our first performance. We've slightly rebelled, and decided that those who read music can sing the parts and the rest will just bellow out the melody.
