Here we go gathering nuts..... In October not May
Bit of an EB today.
Our rector of 35 years retired today and I was tasked with saying thank you and presenting his gift. Not a chore but something I wanted to get right. All went well and we had a lovely lunch thereafter but I think we all feel rather adrift at the moment.
This image is of a cob or hazel nut which I found on the cycle track yesterday, and two walnuts from the tree in Canaan Lane which I blipped a couple of weeks ago. I've never seen such tiny but perfect walnuts, they are just over 1cm across and not much more long.
One of the things I find most wonderful is the creation of something, whether it be fruits, flowers, life... or on this case walnuts, from nothing and these beautiful miniature nuts with their delicate intricate shells are an example of that.
