Shelter from the Rain

The clear skies of the last couple of days deserted us today. Instead we were treated to a cold wind, cloud and rain. Being something of a hothouse person it seemed like a good occasion to visit the Winter Gardens at Duthie Park.

This is the arid house in the glass houses. It may have been arid inside but we could here the rain hammering on the glass around us. I did feel this photograph might have been calling out for some bizarre effects in post processing, but I have resisted the temptation.

After a wander around the Winter Gardens we adjourned to the cafe. We ordered cappuccino, and the bill said that is what we got. Well whatever was in the cup may have contained coffee, but it was not cappuccino. The staff are all young, probably students, but some training in how to prepare a coffee using the coffee machines would not come amiss. Although we drank it, it was not a pleasant experience.

After what passed for coffee it had stopped raining so we had a wander around the park.
