Cleaning the bowl

The Christmas Cake is on its way! N gave a stir and a wish and T appeared at the right moment to lick out the bowl. Uncooked cake mixture is always delicious and popular! Just thought I should do something constructive in the kitchen since I shall be out of action for a while after next week and N will have to become domesticated!!

A day of respite today. The horrendous gales have abated and the continual annoying noise of the wind blustering around the house and down the chimneys has disappeared and we are able to relax and think again. Various roads are still unpassable and the railway between Exeter and Yeovil Junction has been closed because of storm damage. The poor travellers have to be bussed many miles to pick up the link for their onward journeys.

Our agronomist paid a visit this afternoon to work out a plan for next year's corn crops or lack of them and what alternatives we could use instead. The south-west's drilling has been a disaster in the heavier ground.
