Golden unicorn
The permanent residents of Edinburgh often leave until the autumn their visits to the major exhibitions that opened in the city in the summer. By then the galleries are quieter than at the height of the tourist season. Following our visit to the Rembrandt exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy on 23rd September, this morning's entertainment for the hazelhs was provided by Canaletto and his contemporaries in the Queen's Gallery at Holyrood. Afterwards we pretended that we were on holiday and enjoyed tea/coffee and scones in the café.
This afternoon I exercised, composed a blog post to go live on my web site first thing tomorrow, and picked up work on a journal article. (Another blog post that I wrote yesterday went live this morning. If you happen to know anyone who would like to come and work with my group here in Edinburgh, do please share the link.)
My blip is of the golden unicorn who guards the entrance to the Queen's Gallery.
Exercise today: 10 mile bike ride; a bit of walking (7844 steps).
