Ceps, cannelés and bread

Including a shot of ceps in the frying pan taken this evening, nice, but expensive. In partnership with a friend I used to grow shiitake mushrooms which always come out top for taste in my opinion. Back to today; on a Monday there’s a large market about 20kms away, in order to park the motorhome we left about 8.30 and lucked into a parking spot. The Market appeared to take over the town, loved it with all sorts of cooked foods, fruit and vegetables, lots of chat and any number of people coming up to the gorgeous dog to pat him on the head. He soaked it up. Later a walk into the village, a mixture of old and modern, and hardly a sole to be seen. Mind you it was lunch time.

I can not think we’ve come across cannelés before, pleasant, almost very good. I have since looked up the recipe and they can be tricky to cook correctly. Wonder what our own village baker would say. (she is about to open a little shop next to her bakery, it looks wonderful in her photos. A blip once we arrive home),

Another cool day, the dog is wonderful. We feed the geese and ducks along the drive about 5.00 pm, he trots along beside me and this evening sat patiently for ten minutes as I waited for them to climb the bank and cross the drive to the food. Little oiks decided they would wait, it was an hour later when I spotted a few tootling over.
