GREEN-EYED MONSTER

This morning I saw a FB post of a photo taken by a friend of a cormorant  and he remarked on the colour of its eyes, which I have never noticed before. And then, by coincidence, there was one in the pond in the park this afternoon, hanging out with the ducks and geese, and indeed its eyes are very green.

I've never seen the water in the pond as low as it is now. Perhaps they'll use the opportunity to clean it out - it could certainly do with it.
