Localised Flooding

San Pedro experienced a very severe and localised storm today. Rarely have I seen rain quite so torrential and prolonged. All morning it fell and the road outside soon became a river.

Then word began to filter upstairs that the ground floor was flooded. And so it was, along with the Red Pitch, where the pupils should soon be letting off steam after lunch.

While we all hoped for a signal to abandon ship, the Management decided to re-room all downstairs classes and the rest of us carried on as normal.

After all, it's only water, declared one senior member of staff.

That's what they said on the Titanic.
