The Itchen Navigation is not known for Rowing but Winchester College has a boat house and they row on the river. A mile in one direction is St Catherine's Lock that is as far as they can go. Less than quarter of a mile in the other direction is a weir. So there isn't very far to row and they have to avoid floating logs and low branches.

What is missing is the coach - she appeared riding a bike after I had taken the shot on the narrow path. Shame.
