French walnuts picked from Keith's tree

I went to see Keith to discuss his pictures and he gave us some of his own French walnuts which he  had just picked from the tree he planted from a walnut many years ago.

After I'd photographed them today I left them outside the back door to remain cool as they had little signs of mould growing on them. The next time I looked they'd disappeared from this bowl. I think the squirrel which raids the bird feeder tray near our back door must have nicked them. I should have thought of that. These must seem like manna from heaven to a squirrel.
