Mushrooms on toast, anyone ?

This is a very small detail from a photograph I took today.
I saw this purely by chance as I was wandering through the trees ( wandering being an essential part of my daily routine )
It's a very dull overcast day here and I was photographing the effects of the heavy snow and high winds on the trees. Quite high up on this tree at first I thought it was little mounds of unmelted snow. Then I realized that they were a type of fungus shaped like oysters. The curious thing is that the upper surface of them is fuzzy and almost glows in the dull day. The total length of the group is about 3 inches.
