Cobnuts
These were originally called "Lambert's Filberts" after Mr Lambert of Goudhurst who was big on them in the mid-ninteenth century when he developed them as a cash crop. They are a variety of hazelnut and are eaten green rather than dried like other nuts. That means that they are seasonal and another sign of autumn.
