The Loup of Fintry.
This afternoon MaggieD, Chloe and I all went up to the Loup. The water was quite high after yesterday's rain but oddly not as much as I imagined. The falls however were still rather spectacular!
"Loup" is a Scots word for leap or jump and as can be seen, the young river Endrick was fairly jumping about a hundred feet down the glen.
This morning I went off to Bo'ness and the heritage railway for a preview of a brand new train. This is a battery electric job and one of the prototypes was being tested on the gradient up to Manuel junction and back. Very interesting, comfortable and smart, the two car unit performed very well as far as I could see. Today's extra is of the unit stopped at Manuel and a whole lot of blokes, a few ladies and even a couple of bairns all out to admire/inspect it.
