Finding the right balance is a tricky business; the Flumlet tried several combinations of the elephants and, as I watched, I could see what was likely to fail, partly as he was not paying attention to keeping them in line. He was getting most frustrated.

He solved that problem by leaning them against the cupboard door. We then had the opportunity to talk about 'centre of gravity', which was explained by advising him not to put big pieces too far to the outside but keep the weight in the middle of the stack. I had half a mind to get out the kitchen scales to demonstrate but it wasn't necessary - he came up with this.
