Inverness and the River Ness in the early evening with some gloomy clouds about. Taken from the Infirmary footbridge over the river, whilst on my way for a swim... in the pool, lest there be any doubt. River still in spate after all the rain on Tuesday.
Later, cycling home in the dark, I heard my first of the Winter Thrushes arriving. Redwings, giving their characteristic single "tsssp" call, as they flew in from Scandinavia and beyond.
