Lotus at Pura Taman Saraswati

We set out on a short trip into Ubud Centre today and then found ourselves in the busiest crowd we've seen on Bali so far. We went to the Agung Rai Museum of Art first and that was fine, but then back to Ubud Centre, where we were dropped off at the Pura Taman Saraswati temple, with an agreement to be picked up an hour later. There is a beautiful lotus pond in front of the temple, and my Blip today for Flower Friday is one of the lotus flowers (with a tiny bit of paint texture added). But the temple was closed ! 'Never mind' we thought, 'we'll go see the Royal Palace'! But the Royal Palace was closed because there was a Royal Wedding going on ! See the extra for a tiny part of the outside decorations for the wedding. 'OK, we'll walk back to the temple and have coffee at the Lotus Cafe then and wait for the driver to come pick us up'. And then all traffic got jammed because of the Royal Wedding Procession and we waited for more than an hour together with the people in the traffic jam, amongst them also guests who had been to the wedding, see extra no 2 ! But we were eventually picked up and returned to the villa and peace and quiet and afternoon tea ... Very early tomorrow I'm going to the market with one of the cooks to see and buy the vegetables and herbs and spices we'll need for a cooking lesson tomorrow afternoon, that should be fun !
