More good memories.

I have a feeling I may have blipped this before but it is an important memory and we all do it occasionally.

This is Leeds Town Hall. My memory is that in 1951 I regularly paid a shilling to hear the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. A school friend and I sat on the bench choir seats immediately behind the timpani section which was exciting in such works as the William Tell Overture

It was only recently that I discovered that I must have been sitting near to the author and play-write Alan Bennett.

My father could not understand why I went to what he called Sympathy concerts as nobody in our family had ever done that.

But it led to a lifetime of pleasure which continues to this day.
