Mushrooms....

....a whole colony of them!
Another saga today! Jennie went out with her friends last night (she uses Tom's car), and parked in a Walgreens parking lot, figuring it was well lit and was right next door to where they were all meeting. When she came out a few hours later, the car was gone. She called the police, only to find out it had been towed, because the Walgreens closes at 9 & there's no public parking allowed after they close.  She called the "open 24 hours" tow lot number the police gave her, only to be told that they TOW cars 24 hours a day, but you can only get your car back OUT between 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. One of her friends nicely brought her home last night, and I told her I'd drive her down to the tow place this morning. Before we left the house, she called their number to get their address, & the guy on the phone said it was on 7th & Wells. Obviously they don't employ the most sharp witted people in the world, as the guy doesn't know where the heck he is--he was off on the address.........by 42 blocks!!  Finally found it & dropped her off. I wasn't even home yet when she called me to say that even tho' she had the title and insurance forms with her, they refused to release the car, as it was Tom's name on the title, so Tom had to pick it up. She gave them his phone number and said to call and he'd verify it was okay........no, not acceptable.  I said for her to put them on the phone and I'd talk to them.........no, not acceptable. So I called Tom to tell him I was almost home and that he'd need to come back downtown with me, but his brother was at our house--he said he was free all day, so he'd take Tom down there & save me another trip. SO nice of him! The two of them went, and after paying a little over $300.00 for the fine, the car was released. What a racket!!
I've been trying to walk everyday to get some exercise, so went to Seminary Woods to burn off some steam after I got home, but I didn't last very long. It's only 42 degrees (F) and we've got frost warnings for tonight, so I walked long enough to find something to blip, and left. When I got home, I texted my brother and also our nephew to wish them each a happy birthday. So much easier to remember birthdays when there are two of them on the same day. I sent my brother a "happy birthday" gif & he wanted to know how I did that. I told him it took the twins (my granddaughters) showing me how to access them before I could do it; I never even knew my phone had gifs on it! About 2 hours later he sent me a gif, so I texted him back about how impressed I was that he figured it out by himself. Back came a text that said: "I had lunch with my granddaughters"! Made me laugh! :))
