Well, I didn't expect this...

A couple of things I didn't expect today.

Firstly, finding that The Botanic Gardens were closed. It was raining so I thought I'd have a peaceful wander around without the inconvenience of other human beings.  I went in by the west gate and was met with a "Gardens Closed" sign.  I was shocked!   Apparently visibly so as staff asked me if I was OK. 
"Why closed?", I curtly enquired. (too shocked to make more words)
"High winds - there might be branches breaking off and stuff", replied staff.
"Ah. OK.  Pesky trees. Whose bright idea was it to put trees in a botanical garden?  ha ha ha!", replied "shocked of Leith" to a retreating staff...



So I went for a pee.  What else was there to do?  

And what a great pee it was!  Well, not the actual pee itself (I'd give it 3/10  - one of those pees you have just because the facility is there so it would be irresponsible not to at my age) but the facilty!  Jings!  I'd never been in this particular pissoire of the Botanic Gardens and was impressed! 

Botanical meanderings curtailed, I headed over to Inverleith pond and and pondered there for a while.  I took a few photos of the various birds but none turned out well. 

So, as it has transpired, [the second thing I didn't expect today], I'm posting a photo of a public loo.
