Day out

With storm Callum it was uncertain whether the plan to eventually use my Christmas voucher for a ½ day Bird of Prey course at
Eagles Flying
would be feasible, but it was. What a lovely day with Michael, we even had a soup lunch in Drumcliffe Tea Rooms on the way to Ballymote.
Lothar is a great entertainer, imparting lots of information about each of the birds & flying them so close to the audience & providing plenty of photo opportunities. After the display we got to experience Maeve, the Harris Hawk flying & landing on our gloved arm. It was very windy which suits the falcons, Lothar & Connor flew the Sika falcon & the very fast Lanner Falcon, which I couldn’t get in focus. We are to go back as the wind picked up & the light was dropping so Lothar said we weren’t getting the most out of the voucher.
 It is a thoroughly uplifting experience, as it is each & every time I been to Eagles Flying, I had a great day.
