Hunterston Bunkers

Out of use since 2017. The loading bunkers at Hunterston High Level. Originally used for the importing of coal and iron ore for use at Ravenscraig Steel Works. Following closure of the steel works, the facility was used for the importation of coal for power stations, including Drax, Eggborough, Cockenzie and Longannet. Following the closure of power stations including Longannet in March 2016, there was little traffic left resulting in closure,
