Holding on for dear life

The weather over the last 72 hours is enought to make any leaf curl up and die. We have had heavy rain, high winds, frost............ and more to come.

I had to turn back while driving through a local village when I was confronted with a deep flood under a railway bridge. I felt sorry for the driver of the Hyundai car that had come across the flood the night before. The car still sat in the water, it's headlights just visible, peering out forlornly from the water.

Despite the weather this leaf was resolute, I even gave it a tug, but it was still firmly attached to the branch.
