Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild

Last day at Nice today, so we took the 81 bus to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and visited Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild which turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday.

The Cap Ferrat peninsula is so quiet compared with Nice and has so many beautiful homes it was lovely to wander around.

The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is just magnificent, both as a building and as a museum showing how the uber-wealthy lived a century ago. You soon see why the French called it The Belle Epoque, a time when anything could be had that money could buy.
