Footpath To Thorner Lane
A very wet day - so we met up with our daughter and family indoors at York outlet! We were early and got parked up easily - unlike when we left when there were queues to get in and out.
Coffee and sausage sandwiches were consumed - followed by a wander around the shops. Home for a bowl of soup and then by 4 p.m. the rain eased off and I got out for a walk with Finlay.
Spotted this little sign - you would be struggling to walk along the path nowadays. The sign has been uncovered by some hedge ‘management’ - I have never seen it before despite walking past hundreds of times over the years. I suspect it is probably a relic from when the A1 passed a few feet away and was just a dual carriageway rather than the three lane motorway it is now. Might have been a temporary diversion whilst reconstruction was going on. There is a proper paved footpath / bridleway now.
As I was cooking tea I popped out to take some rubbish to the bin and there were lovely bands of pink in the sky - see extra. Didn’t have time to go out and shoot it properly.
