Wednesday's blip was taken from the book launch of a book about the artist Victoria Crowe. I promised that a future blip would highlight her work.
The print on the wall is a group of trees. The small figure in the foreground is Jenny Armstrong who was a local shepherdess and the subject of many of Victoria Crowe's painting. Jenny represents a time passing. The landscape dominates with the fields in snow - the Scottish winter is another of Victoria's main subjects. The snow is rarely solely white with all the bumps and hollows of the hill making their impression.
The smaller print is a painting from the same area. In fact probably from Jenny Armstrong's cottage looking down at the entrance of a grand house.
