The Auctioneer.
In another life Mr Tbay was an auctioneer and rather a good one if I say so myself! As a result of this is he is often ambushed at events to sell items. This is especially so at Harvest Suppers this time of year. They are an excellent way to raise money for good causes and the picture above is of Mr Tbay in full flight at our local Young Farmers Harvest Supper on Saturday evening.
The Harvest Supper was as always a great success. They st about 80 people in a local Village Hall. The food was fabulous. Lots of superb meat locally produced and purchased from our local butcher in the next village. After a feast of Ham, Beef and Salt Beef, we then had homemade trifles followed by a cheese board and tea, coffee and mints. Not bad for a ticket price of just £15 !!
Once the tables had been cleared we then had the Raffle, followed by the Auction and then the Entertainments. What fun they were too. They even had Mr Tbay and me on stage for a Mr and Mrs Challenge. I am glad to say that after 35 years of marriage we seem to know each other pretty well as we got all the answers right!
Rural life at its best!
