The Best of the Day

It was our monthly wetlands bird survey today. When we set off just after dawn, it was raining steadily and visibility was poor. It stopped raining before too long and the light improved. Just as we got back to the car, the rain began again. They’ve been doing some work on the reservoir recently - we thought they had finished. Clearly not. The water was lower than I’ve ever seen it. One good thing about this is that the inflow becomes quite a fast stream and Dippers are to be seen.
