Botanical Gardens, Balboa Park

Today was Landon’s real first birthday although he had his party on Saturday. I can hardly believe how quick that first year has gone and how much he has developed in the year.

We travelled to Balboa Park in San Diego to visit the Science Museum and walk around the park. Glorious weather. Warm, bright blue skies and a cooling breeze.

Landon was captivated watching the IMAX movie of the Great Barrier Reef which was a good thing as the show lasted at least 45 minutes. He was equally absorbed by the many exhibits and activities in the Museum. He was very much at home in Kids World which was full of brightly coloured toys for children under 5. A lot of time was spent pushing a plastic supermarket trolley around. It’s his favourite activity at the moment.

Such was his exertions that he fell asleep as soon as we left in the car and continued to sleep when taken out of his car seat and put in his cot.

After the long nap he had a mischievous time playing, pottering, trying to annoy the dogs and generally having a lot of fun.

After he had gone to bed Chris went to play 6 aside soccer locally and I went to watch. An even game ended 4-4 with Chris scoring a hat trick.
