Another day another football match, this time a tournament with the school. They had 5 matches to play and for the first 2 my little one was in goal. She was saving goals but there was no-one in the team who could score. They lost the first match and the second was 0-0. We had a word with the teacher and explained that she is a striker but will always go in goal because nobody else wants to. The teacher swapped the team around and what a difference it made. The next match they won 2-0, fourth match was a 2-2 draw and the last match they lost 2-1. She made such an impact when she was out on the pitch, it gave the other players a confidence to know she would be there tackling, passing and defending. Thank goodness it was only a small pitch but all that work has left her with really sore muscles in her calf and thigh. Unfortunately she had football training in the evening and she gave the boys a definite run for their money. When she finally went to bed she was asleep within minutes!
