Mystery Meal

There is very little birding activity at the beach right now so I had to settle for taking photos of this lone Blue Heron.  It sat still for about 15 minutes and then started to move when it saw something along the shoreline. 

It grabbed something out of the water,  dunked and rinsed it probably twenty times and then gobbled it down.  What is is odd is that whatever it ate has four legs and appears to have fur.  View large to see the detail...
