North Berwick
The weather forecast for the next few days is looking good so we are trying to make the most of it. This afternoon I was a very lucky little collie because Ann took me to North Berwick for my walk.
North Berwick is one of Ann's most favourite places. She used to come here on holiday in the mid 1960s with her cousins. They used to stay in the 'Point Garry Hotel' near the links. We always park outside the 'Point Garry Hotel', but it's just a family home now.
Anyway we walked across the links and then I got to play on both of North Berwick's beaches. I had a fabulous time. I rolled on stinky stuff, I ran, I wallowed around in the paddling pool, I made friends with lots of other dogs. It was fun, fun, fun. North Berwick is like a 'Scottish' version of St Ives. It's a lovely little seaside town and hasn't actually been spoilt by 'tacky stuff'.
Unfortunately the outdoor pool is long gone, which is a shame because swimming in the outdoor pool was a HUGE part of Ann's holidays in the 1960s. She'd go there with her cousins in the morning to splish, splash, splosh and then they'd have hot orange squash to warm themselves up and then the afternoon would be spent on the beach. Mmmmmm............. it never seemed to rain or be cold on holidays in the 1960s????
