One Red Paperclip.
If you don't know the story of One Red Paperclip and you can't be arsed to spend 8 minutes watching the link, here is a brief resume:
Bloke in Canada trades a paperclip for a house - amazing.
I have been mulling over how to grow my recent lottery win - all £10 of it - into a skiing holiday and at the beginning of November I hatched a plan:
Buy low sell high - using ebay as my market place.
I started with putting £5 in a jam jar - that was my original prize. With the other £5 I bought 3 items at a flea market, a fur collar, a wooden art deco toast rack and a vintage Grace Kelly style handbag.
The handbag made a loss of 16p.
The toast rack a profit of £1.54 and the fur collar a massive profit of £9.10.
I put £5.00 in the jam jar and re-invested the remainder in a brass door knocker and two 1960s tie clips. The profit from these items was used to buy a random box of ceramics at a local auction.
To my utter delight a couple of the items - a Wade Disney model and some dolls house plates made more than anticipated, and my profit currently stands at £48.65p - enough for a couple of hours at the Hemel Hempstead snow centre at the very least!!
If I'm light on commenting on blip at the moment, it may be that I am watching my profits grow on ebay!!
I will keep you all updated on a weekly basis.
Many thanks for all your comments on my luna pic yesterday.
