Simplicity...

...and generosity are two of the virtues that mark out the lovely Mutabilis that is beginning her first Spring flush in our garden .
Rather nippy this morning , so we lit the fire and it's been humming away all day keeping the chill off the house whilst Dr D cut the planks for the new seating outside the stitching cave. After lunch , he did half the lawn (an hour and a half on the ride-on mower while I just indulged , completing another embroidered block for a quilt and sewing a maker's hexagon label onto the cot quilt I finished last week. 
A day of misty rain now and then interspersed with bright sunshine and a strengthening wind that is wafting spent cherry blossom and golden elm blossom in great drifts across the lawns.
