Clunie
The kind of day that holidays are made for. OK, it may have been grey and overcast above, but the autumn colours on the ground more than made up for it.
Started the day with a visit to Branklyn Garden. The garden closes for the season at the end of October and there were lots of gardeners tidying up the fallen leaves and planting bulbs for next season. Although devoid of its spring and summer glory, there were plenty of autumn reds, oranges and yellows on show, with a fair amount of green providing the backdrop.
In the afternoon I took a train up to Pitlochry. After a short wander round the town, I walked over towards the dam and then along the path upstream along the banks of the River Tummel. The colours were glorious and many photos were taken! The highlight, though, were the reflections at Clunie Bridge (my Blip for today).
The main reason for my trip to Pitlochry was to visit the Enchanted Forest in the evening. It did not disappoint. Lots of light and colour, with sounds to match. There was a seven-minute sound-and-light projection on the loch depicting creation and it was simply stunning. Last train back to Perth and time for a relaxing beer.
There has been a lot to enjoy about the day.
