Took the Wellington cable car up to the top of the hill where the Botanics are (steepest botanics ever!) and arranged to meet our friend from home Mairi. She showed us around the beautiful botanics (best bit was definitely the bottom with the bright rows and rows of flowers) her flat, Kuba street and Oriental bay, which is a beach only 5 mins from the centre. In the evening we caught up with Hugh again and had some more chats over pizza and a log burning fire. It was lovely to catch up since our time in Australia! :)
