As I was walking by St Paul's . . . .
I went up to London this morning for a Blipmeet, though it turned out to be quite a small one! The meeting place was the Salvation Army cafe in Queen Victoria Road and we made a leisurely wander towards the Museum of London where the four of us spent a couple of hours. En route we walked past St Paul's Cathedral and took many pictures in spite of the rain and mist! I thought this sort of weather only happened in Argyll! In Paternoster Square I was shown this lovely sculpture of the Shepherd and his Sheep, by Elisabeth Frink. To quote Wikipedia "The subject of the statue reflects the former use of Paternoster Row as the site of Newgate Market for the sale of livestock and meat, and may also have theological overtones reflecting its position in the shadow of St Paul's Cathedral."
We also visited Postman's Park, a garden since 1880, and the home of the Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice, a series of plaques in memory of ordinary people who did heroic things. I've put one on as an extra.
