Striped Hawk moth

This beautiful Striped hawk moth Hyles livornica  hatched today from the larvae I reared during the summer.
These moths are rare migrants to the UK with only a handful found each year. Sadly our winter is too harsh for them to survive so they cannot live here - which is a shame as they are really beautiful.
