Switch-on

Really nice day; met two other assistants, Emily and Kate, in the afternoon for coffee. We then explored the area round Saint Michel, including the Shakespeare & Company bookshop which is really cool; ancient-looking, floor to ceiling with books and ladders everywhere to reach the top shelves. Afterwards we went to the Champs Elysees to look round the Christmas market there which is amazing and huuuge. We then met up with their friend Tim and went to another café for a beer before heading back to the market to see the Christmas light switch-on, meeting Elisabo, who'd just come from work, on the way. There was supposedly some celebrity, Diane Kruger, switching them on but we must have gathered in the wrong place as we missed that, and the lights just suddenly turned on, completely unannounced - bit of an anti-clilmax. We bought some food and mulled wine from the market before heading back home.
