Perth Firecloud
I visited the City of Perth today for a brass band competition in the beautiful Perth Concert Hall.
The band didn't play too well (apparently) but it did mean that I had chance to watch the firework display marking the switching-on of the Christmas lights.
The first few fireworks were very nice but as the crescendo of explosions rose, so too did the level of firework smoke in the very still, approaching-zero degrees air.
The resulting very noisy cloud was quite spectacular but not what the pyrotechnicians had planned, nor what the citizens had turned out to see, judging from some of the comments from people around me!
Giant nebula.
It was a good day, all in all, and great to meet up with some good friends again.
And I enjoyed playing with the Lochgelly Band, even if the adjudicators didn't like us!
