Racehorse tree
Th jacarandas and the flame trees have now given way to the racehorse trees which are looking quite magnificent at the moment. I planted one in the backyard about 18 years ago and its now about 10m tall.
Everywhere you look in the Samford valley there is a splash of bright yellow. Problem is, there is too much of it. It's nice to look at, but the racehorse tree, a Brazilian species, is classed as invasive, and there is a push to get rid of it.
