I had a terrific scoot around Newport today -- it's the first time I've been able to travel out of the parking lot here (last year I forgot to bring the battery charger!) and the terrain is simple and scooter-friendly. I still can't scoot on the beach (and had some moments of sadness today, realizing I probably won't take beach walks again, I did love that so), but I came close!

Such a variety of things to photograph! I was very in to textures today - big chains and ropes, kelp, metal sculptures, grasses, concrete benches. But I couldn't resist blipping these two feeding the seagulls. I tried to engage them in conversation, but they were distracted and quite serious -- I had to wonder how one could be serious wearing such a hat. Maybe her ears were cold. Even the gulls were a bit sedate - I'm used to seeing them so raucous where food is involved. It was nice to have them sit still for a couple of portraits. See it in LARGE.
